Hispanic Serving Institution
UTSA is one of the original 189 universities in the nation to be federally-designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution. While the designation allows UTSA to compete for federal funding, our vision goes much further: we aspire to be a model Hispanic thriving institution where students from all backgrounds can excel.
UTSA has held the prestigious Seal of Excelencia, a national certification recognizing the university’s commitment and ability to accelerate Latino student success, since 2020.
